Printer problems are almost always frustrating. But if you do a lot of printing, it’s only a matter of time before you deal with them. Unfortunately, many printer problems can be ambiguous and difficult to diagnose. Fortunately, trying a KOALA printhead solution is often simpler and less expensive than replacing the printer.

Advantages of KOALA Cleaner Kit

If your print job is blurry or incomplete, the printhead might be stuck. And, if you also have streaks in your prints, you’re almost certainly dealing with clogged nozzles. These types of jams are an unavoidable part of the printing process because over time, dry ink residue can collect inside the Print Head.

If you suspect a clogged printhead, the first thing to do is to print a nozzle check pattern to find the affected colors.

If there are any error messages preventing it from printing the check pattern, you need to clear those error messages before attempting to clean the printhead. If your pattern is mottled or discolored like the pattern on the bottom, run the printer’s own self-cleaning cycle first. This will clear most blockages, but if it doesn’t work after a few attempts, continue with the KOALA printhead cleaning method.

Note: Printer head cleaning is of 95% successful rate and require some fresh ink, but there is a small risk of damage to the printer. Therefore, we do recommend using printhead cleaning solution after you have tried other methods such as the printer inbuilt cleaning function, and when the printer has no functional use unless fixed. As errors in the printer are possible in some circumstances.

Steps of use Cleaner Kit (Use Epson printer as example)

Turn off the power and remove the ink cartridge

Keep your cartridges sealed to prevent spilling

Cut two 20mm wide strips of paper

Place two strips of paper together under the print head

Use a syringe to extract the cleaning agent and inject it into the printer at this location

Remove the card

Let the printer stand for 2-3 hours to keep the printer dry

Print a test paper to determine if cleaning is complete

Tips:

(1) When cleaning, it is recommended to slowly suck the cleaning liquid out of the print head (suction the liquid back and forth gently to help agitate the clogged ink). This may loosen the ink and allow it to work.

(2) If the print head is heavily clogged, leave the liquid in for 1 hour to dissolve the blockage inside the print head. (Depending on the severity of the blockage, the wait time may take longer.)

(3)Then, run 2 printer cleaning cycles to remove any cleaning fluid from the printer, and then install the ink cartridges. Then print a “Printer Test Page” to confirm that the printheads are working properly.

The above tips are just suggestions based on everyday experience. Choose the right adapter for your own printer type, as there are hundreds of them, so you’ll need to judge for yourself, as long as the cleaning fluid doesn’t leak during use.
